  • The Center for Electrochemical Engineering Research co-hosted a webinar with the University of South Carolina on March 2nd 2016. This webinar: “An Introduction to CEProTECH – Center for Electrochemical Processes and Technology” presented the capabilities and value proposition that CEProTECH provides for industrial partners and the synergy offered by a potential partnership with the University of South Carolina.   • The CEProTECH Industry Advisory Board Meeting was to be held October 27 and 28, 2015 at CEProTECH headquarters.

  • The EPSuM Workshopwas held April 16, 2015 at Bayer Material Science (100 Bayer Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15205).

  • PolymerOhio is conducting a Needs Assessment of chemical manufacturing companies to analyze and evaluate opportunities to improve current electrochemical processes being used by industry, and identify opportunities to develop new electrochemical processes to address industry needs and challenges.   • A webinar on Electrochemical Pathways for Sustainable Manufacturing was held on October 22. View a recording of the webinar featuring Dr. Gerardine Botte (Director of CEER and CEProTECH), Kent Shields (CEO of E3 Clean Technologies), and Gary Walzer (VP Manufacturing Services, PolymerOhio).

  • Dr. Gerri Botte presented her GreenBox technology in the Edison Theatre at the Electrochemical Society Meeting in Cancun.

  • Russ Professor Gerri Botte to teach at 2015 European Electrochemical Engineering summer school. The The 7th European Summer School on Electrochemical Engineering (ESSEE2015) will take place in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands on 21 – 25 June 2015.

  • CEER receives Coal to Graphene award from the Ohio Development Services Agency.

  • CEProTECH held its first Industry Advisory Board Meeting on May 7 and 8 in Athens, Ohio.  Representatives from the National Science Foundation (NSF), industry, and CEER faculty, staff, and students came together to discuss the research of CEProTECH.

  • Luis Diaz-Aldana successfully defended his dissertation on “Mathematical Modeling of Ammonia Electro-Oxidation on Polycrystalline Pt Deposited Electrodes.” Congratulations Dr. Diaz. (February 2014)

  • Welcome to Dr. Omar Movil-Cabrera who joins CEER, from the University of Puerto-Rico, as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate under Dr. John Staser.

  • Wei Yan has successfully defended his dissertation on “Nickel-based Catalysts for Urea Electro-oxidation.” Congratulations Dr. Yan. (January 2014)

  • Congratulations to Vedasri Vedharathinam, the 2014 winner of the IEEE Student Achievement Award of the Industrial Electrochemistry and Electrochemical Engineering Division of the Electrochemical Society. Vedasri is the second student at CEER to receive this award. (November 2013)

  • Congratulations to Vedasri Vedharathinam and Santosh Vijapur, who were offered travel grant from the Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry Division and High Temperature Materials Divisions respectively, to attend the upcoming Electrochemical Society conference. (September 2013)

  • We would like to welcome Dr. John Staser to the Center for Electrochemical Engineering Research. John is a new Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Ohio University and will be affiliated with the Center’s activities. (August 2013)

  • The Center for Electrochemical Engineering Research is moving from 166 Stocker Center to 182 Mill Street. This move will increase the research space from 5,500 ft2 to 20,000 ft2 (May 2013).
